Lebanon Health Communications Campaign
WLF supported the Ministry of Health of Lebanon
with a campaign to educate the public around
the dangers of secondhand smoke in public areas
timed to coincide with the Lebanonese
parliament’s consideration of the Eastern
Mediterranean region's (EMRO) strongest tobacco
control law.
Adapting a campaign from the WLF Mass Media Resource, freed up more financial resources for media placement, which included television and billboards. Campaign pre-testing and pre- and post-evaluation using WLF's protocol, were conducted by the Ministry's in-house research team. Lebanon's parliament later passed the law providing the region with a strong model for tobacco control.
