Key achievement to date: Initiated negotiations with Brasilcon (consumers' organization based in Brazil) and other organizations to get involved in the issue.

Objective 1: This grant supports MPOWER letter goal E, to Enforce bans on tobacco advertising, promotion and sponsorship.  

Major accomplishments to date:

  • Conducted negotiations with Brasilcon to get involved.
  • Carried out initial talks with INCA and ANVISA.
  • Discussions initiated with tobacco control experts in Canada and WLF. Websites explored to gather baseline information.
  • Study tour to Canada undertaken.
